About Glen McKinney

staffglenHey there. Let me just start off by saying that I am as new to Indiana as they come. I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ and lived there up until just this past summer of '09.

Yes, I had seen snow before, but sometimes it was actually the artificial stuff created just to keep the skiing industry afloat in the northern parts of the state. I have not, however, lived anywhere where you have to actually shovel the stuff. This winter has opened my eyes however to a creative side of my God that I had yet to experience. It's like He put the paints away and got out a pencil for the winter artwork. My kids are loving it!

My beautiful wife, Shelley, of nearly 19 years and I have two incredible kids, now 15 and 12. We have a very musical family. My daughter is playing drums, my son plays electric and acoustic guitar and bass, while I am a singer. My wife has a front row seat to it all as our biggest supporter.

Although I wasn't a Preacher's Kid, I still grew up in church. I was a CK, Custodians Kid. My mom cleaned the church where I grew up, so I was always around. At the age of 15 or so, it became apparent to me that God would use me in some capacity for full-time ministry.

Fast forward about 20 years.

Starting on staff at the church we had been attending for 5 or so years was a dream come true. I left the corporate world that had become very mediocre, and less and less rewarding as time went by to work full time for our church.

I had arrived. Or so I thought.

God still needed to work on me some more. We moved to Indiana as a call to do and be more than we ever had before. This is as far from home as I've ever been for any length of time. It is and has been an incredible journey so far. Being surrounded by such an incredible group of talented musicians and singers has caused me to pause and just thank God for who He is to me and who He is to the church. We are so excited to see what God has up His ginormous sleeves for us here as we lead the worship and arts ministry at BridgeWay.
