Craig and his family moved to the Indianapolis area in the fall of 1998 to plant a church that would be about "building bridges that connect God to people." They met people in the community and inviting them over to their family room on Sunday evenings where they dreamed about what a church would look like if its mission was "life-change."
They knew that unless God showed up in a big way, the church would never get out of their family room. By that spring God answered their prayers by leading Grace Community Church to adopt BridgeWay. There they continued to build the church, and on December 3rd, 2000 they launched in a leased facility in Fishers, Indiana.
One of Craig’s values is "To whom much is given, much will be required." That is why both he and BridgeWay are committed to church multiplication, and in the years since their launch have helped launch a number of other churches. He is passionate about training and mentoring church planters, and is a certified church planting coach.
Craig and his wife Lisa were married in 1987, and have two children, Rebecca and Shane. He is a graduate of The University of Iowa (B.S. Psychology/Pre-Med) and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (MDiv.), and was trained at Willow Creek Community Church. Craig enjoys running because his "running buddies" provide plenty of funny stories to share on Sundays.
