Sample Baptism Story
One thing I will tell you is I’m a Buddhist transformed into Christian and I am enjoying every moment of it. Since I’ve come to BridgeWay I’ve seen my wife get baptized and our life together just changed and I do mean drastically! We are like the twine that becomes a rope! We are one! My children even get upset if we don’t come to service.
I’ve faced some very difficult issues at work that have affected my health in some major ways. I have chronic pain in my joints and muscles and haven’t been able to figure out why, but I’m learning to trust God with all of it and have experienced huge blessings along the way!
God has allowed me to wake up each morning and see my lovely wife and children. There was a time when I didn't know my own children because I was working 7 days a week and didn’t take the time out for them or the Lord. I’m now taking that time with God and want Him to be a part of my daily life. By being baptized today, I’m saying that I’m a follower of Jesus Christ…He’s my Lord and Savior and I want everyone to know it! I’m dying to my old life and looking forward to rising to a new life with Jesus. I’ve relied on a lot of different things to take care of me in life: my job, my own resources…and all of that has failed, but God hasn’t and never will!
One of my favorite Psalms in Psalm 23: The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. God has blessed me with a great group of friends who have helped me along. He has also blessed me with a great church family here at BridgeWay and I’m looking forward to being a part of this family for a long time!
