We Value Your Child's Safety
We know that children's safety is a key concern for parents. At BridgeKids, we want your child to be physically, emotionally and spiritually safe. Here are some guidelines that help to promote your child's well-being.
General Wellness Guidelines
To ensure the health of children and volunteers, we ask that sick children do not attend classes in BridgeKids Children's Ministry. The Committee on Control of Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that a child should not leave home when any of the following symptoms exist:
- Fever (over 100.5 degrees)
- Cold/Flu
- Green or yellow runny nose
- Persistent cough
- Diarrhea
- Vomiting
- Discharge in or around the eyes (conjunctivitis/pink eye)
- Rashes and skin eruptions
- Any contagious disease
- Lice, including the presence of eggs or nits
These are the guidelines that we follow and we expect that a child or volunteer be free of fever for 24 hours before coming back to BridgeKids.
We do not dispense any medication to a child. Parents, if your child appears to be ill you will be contacted immediately to come and pick up your son or daughter from class. Thank you for helping to promote wellness for the children.
Secure Check-In and Check-Out
We require all parents to wear a numbered safety tag when they are delivering or receiving their child(ren) in a children’s ministry classroom. The child’s name tag will be marked with the parent safety number and the numbers must be matched in order for a parent to retrieve their child. Children will not be released to anyone who does not have a matching parent number. Parent numbers can be obtained from a hall greeter when you enter the BridgeKids area.
Two-Deep Policy
Each classroom is staffed with a minimum of two unrelated adults at all times when children are present. Additionally, we uphold classroom ratios to ensure that our adult:child ratios are safe and promote relational ministry and personal care.
