BridgeWay’s Elders “Come to Jesus”

BridgeWay’s Elder Team has a number of sayings, and one of them is “The fish stinks from the head down.” What that means is that a church is never stronger than its leadership, and so for BridgeWay to be right with God our elders must be right with each other. That is why each May we come together for what we call our annual “Come to Jesus” meeting.

At our annual “Come to Jesus” meeting, each Elder is affirmed for their strengths and challenged in their weaknesses. To work effectively as a team we must keep “short accounts” with each other, and if there is any conflict beneath the radar screen it must be resolved. Then each elder must be unanimously affirmed by the entire team or he is “voted off the island.”

After faithfully serving on BridgeWay’s Elder Team now for seven years, Chris Zaugg has voted himself off the island. Don’t worry, Chris will continue leading on Sunday mornings, and will be giving even more time and energy leading BridgeWay’s worship teams. I want to thank him publicly for his service, and I will continue to value his wisdom and counsel.

Next week BridgeWay’s members will be receiving packets which will enable them to make leadership recommendations not only for the Elder Team, but also for our Director and Shepherding Teams. Please take time to review the biblical qualification for these leadership positions, and submit your signed recommendation cards by Sunday, June 27th. If you have any questions, be sure to contact me at craig@bridgewaycc.com.

What is FamJam?

In just a few days, an amazing family event will take place at BridgeWay! Rather than separating families as they come to worship and learn about God, we’ve created a way for you to worship together, strengthen your family’s faith and values while enjoying some really great family fun. These three nights include:

•	A shared, meaningful faith experience.

•	Lots of activities to bring you together and get you talking and laughing.

•	“Minute to Win It” challenges for dads, moms and kids.

•	A special “Justice Night” where you and your family share Christ’s love by doing a good deed together for the community.

•	A chance to enjoy good, clean, family fun while strengthening your family values.

How Do I Register?

If you or your guests are not yet registered, you’ll want to know these important things:

•	Pre-registration end on Sunday, May 30th. Anyone registered by the time will receive a follow-up letter that gives them all the information they need to have a great FamJam experience. Pre-register and you’ll have no hassles or worries on opening night.

•	If you have not registered by May 30th, you can still attend FamJam and will need to plan on doing walk-in registration on the evening of June 6. You can pick up a registration form at church on Sunday morning, June 6, fill it out at home, and bring it with you on Sunday evening. Walk-In registration will begin at 4:30 PM on Sunday night and 5:30 PM on Monday and Tuesday.

What About Guests?

FamJam is a perfect time to invite neighbors, friends or relatives to BridgeWay. Introduce them to our church and we’ll help introduce them to God. If you are bringing guest, please do all that you can to pre-register them so that we can be fully ready for them. Of course, however, walk-ins will be received each night. You can bring guests in one of two ways:

•	Invite and entire family to attend FamJam. The cost is only $10.00 per person or $30.00 per family for three nights of family fun. You can’t do one movie night for that cheap!

•	Invite a child to FamJam and have them be a part of your family. You may register them directly on your registration form or you may register them separately. Just be sure to indicate on the form that this child should be with your family.

What’s the Schedule?

FamJam will be held on June 6, 7 and 8 at BridgeWay Community Church. Sunday’s night’s schedule is from 4:30-7:30 PM. Monday and Tuesday nights are from 5:30-8:30 PM.

Don’t miss out on this fam-tastic new event! For more information or to register online, check out the FamJam link on the BridgeWay home page at www.bridgewaycc.com or call Lori Salomo at 317-577-4159 ext. 110 or lori@bridgewaycc.com.

Many BridgeKids team members serve every week in the children’s classes. (Thanks, team members, you rock!) Let’s give those amazing children’s workers some time off this summer.

You can help out by volunteering to sub just 3 times this summer. It’s easy to do, short-term, and your willingness to help will benefit others A LOT!

Our total summer sub need is for 65 adults (18 years and older) to participate. As you can see, we need you to sign up right away.

Parents, show your appreciation to those who have been serving your children by volunteering to give them time off this summer. You’ll be receiving a call in the next week or two to see when you’re available to serve.

Sign up forms are located at the FamJam table in the lobby. Need a weekday contact for more information? Email Jenni Craig at jenni@bridgewaycc.com.
