Online Church Coming Soon?

A friend recently sent me this link to a blog post about a really cool online church http://www.chrisbrogan.com/digital-church/ and it got me thinking about what church really is and if, in fact, online churches may someday replace real churches altogether. I'd be interested in what you think. Is an online church just as legitimate as a real, physical church? After all, people claim they can be MORE real online becasue of the anonymity of the Internet. Can real community be created online? It seems that at least one church has figured out how to do it. Should BridgeWay be next? Or is there something irreplaceable about attendinng a real, physical church and interacting with real, physical people? In an age where FaceBook dominates most social networks and people are always lookking for what's most convenient for the consumer, I'd be super-interested in what you think! What is church anyway? What makes one type of church more "real" than any other anyway? And can you imagine a day when you didn't even have to leave your living room on a Sunday morning in order to attend church?

Very interesting,I was talking with a friend the other day about this same concept. I think it would work as a small group type setting. You would still get community and fellowship with out the cost or the need for a huge volunteer base. A sermon could be brought into a living room with other ideas and tools to make it a meaningfull service.
